Je travaille chez The Hershey Company à temps partiel

    Avantages

    Avantages

    Salary plus over time

    Inconvénients

No work life balance. During seasons you work 6-7 days a week. People with smaller territories have a way easier time, unfair that they are compared equally to ppl having to sell 5 times the amount.

    Avantages

Very good pay. Good benefits. Good work life balance

    Avantages

Pay is decent and you do get paid for mileage from home. Customer you call on are the best part to make your job better. 4 day work week only 5 hours a day. Can’t have no more than 20 hours. Route is flexible you get to plan your own route for the day. Get paid for our of town meeting to and from your house time starts when you leave and of course mileage. Mileage each day is from your home back to your... home. Do get yearly evaluations and small pay raises. 2 weeks paid vacation., plus 3 personal holidays. Paid Holidays if they fall on scheduled work day. You work independently. Need to be self starter. Can work Friday to make up hours with supervisor approval. Do get bonus of 1/2 % if company makes all sales requirement. Do not expect to plan a vacation on, or get rich not happening. 401 K with company match up to 6 percent. If you like sales and all about sales without company backing you then this job is for you.

    Inconvénients

Do not expect training to where you understand completely. Have to learn as you go from hiring on. Sales are the biggest part of job. Merchandiser in your title is a joke. Main job is sales. Should be Retail Sales Rep and pay to go with it. No benefits, no paid sick time unless you use vacation. If you have to be off even for inclement weather you must use vacation or personal holiday pay to get your... scheduled 20 hours. You can’t take time off without pay until you have exhausted your vacation and personal holidays. Lots of calls you have to go with the flow and prioritize what needs done with little time in each call to get them done. 30 minutes in most calls corporate 15 minutes. They do analytics for each call for performance in area. They do track where you are and how long. Very little direction from upper management other than sale sale sale! Lots of apps on iPad to use but learn on the run., lack of training on how to use them. Only expect you to have 30 minutes of admin time for a week. Have to provide insurance coverage with limits of 500-250-500. Personally had to take out a umbrella policy for this because my state did not write that high of limits. Large territory expect to be in your vehicle driving most of your day. Have to eat while in route to next call because only allowed 1 fifteen minute paid break for the day. Sales of reward program they make rules and do not stand behind what you sale. Never trust what is being said to help with sales only present what is in black and white. No way to help at store level to reduce waste. Very frustrating. If you need HR help and clear understanding of policy learn on your own. Your supervisor will change every 2 years and they are promoted from Walmart Sales rep and know nothing about managing people. You can get some that are great and some that do not have a clue. Their supervisor also change about every 3 years. Never a person with tenure that you are allowed to contact. All contact with anyone must go thru supervisor and wait. Will wear out a vehicle with mileage in no time. This is a permanent part time position you will never have a opportunity to go up to any higher position in the company.

    Conseils à la direction

Upper management and HR get out of office and visit people and territories ask questions. Life as a RSM your money makers is not as glamorous a job as you think. You need to find out all you implement and how it is being handed down to the people. More money please and remove merchandiser from name as we do not have time for merchandising just sales. Meetings need to be where you can express negative as well as... positive with out being call out by Supervisor. That is how you get new ideas creativity. Need HR and other upper management at meetings. GET OUT IN THE FIELD! Need to be allowed to overnight for meetings. We make enough for Hershey that we should be treated and have lavish meetings like the upper management. To say have Hershey at heart is hard to do when you do not feel the same love as you are giving. Have a supervisor that stays even if you have a revolving 2 year door for DSS , let them stay in position and pick someone with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Have DSS make clear expectations before starting on a team. Communication is key and let them know they are guest in our territories. They can kill relationships we have built in one visit. NOT GOOD!! Need benefits at least life and long term short term disability and more hours if needed. Smaller territories for 20 hour work week. Goals that are obtainable. Reports that are true and do have a equation to where you can understand and be able to explain how you got that number. Less sales and more merchandising. Let one side of company know what CSE and other upper management is doing. MUSHROOM treatment is not good. More vacation with years of service! Should not have to use vacation or personal time if you decide to take time off. Need at least 5 days paid sick time. We are part time and no benefits. Look at other companies that are not near the billion dollar company as Hershey and they provide extra time with benefits and a lot of them are company provided free for holiday. Need recognition for years of service. Main advice get out of office and go to the field.
