J'ai travaillé chez The Challenge en Contrat Permanent (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

The people that you work with at The Challenge are, without a doubt, a huge draw to working at this organisation - people are passionate about what they do and put in many, many hours of hard work.

There is a huge potential for growth at this orgnisation - if you have talent then this will be recognised and developed. For anyone who is starting their career or looking to accelerate, this is a good orgnaisation for you.

The Challenge recently went through a restructure and people, unfortunately, lost their roles - I think a lot of negativity has arisen due to this. There are still a lot of happy people working at this organisation, but you often do not hear their voices.

    Inconvénients

You do need to work hard, but this suits many people.

    Conseils à la direction

Take into account what people on the ground say. Recognise and reward great performance; address poor performance.

Je travaille chez The Challenge à plein temps (Pendant plus de 5 ans)

    Avantages

    - Brilliant people: everyone really cares about the mission and each other which makes it so enjoyable coming into work every day
    - Development opportunities: line managers continually find ways to develop their teams whether it's through formal training or supporting them with progressing within the organisation
    - Dynamic and continually improving: it's a really exciting place to work as everyone is always looking for ways we can do things better

    Inconvénients

As we're always looking at ways of doing things better, it can mean having to be flexible and respond to changes. Personally, I enjoy working in that manner but I know some people find it hard to keep up with.

    Conseils à la direction

Keeping hiring people who really care about our mission and can see how special our culture is

When issues arise and staff are concerned about the workplace and the stressful conditions, please listen to them

J'ai travaillé chez The Challenge en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

Some amazing staff who are passionate and fun. The programmes have a great mission at their core which is easy to believe in and want to support to do well.

    Inconvénients

The way The Challenge treats staff is terrible. On the surface there are development opportunities and support from (some) great line managers, however dig deeper into the HR and director's teams and there is not a culture of care at all.

Amid a storm of redundancies, staff being stressed and overworked, and terrible core processes, there was very little support from directors, with blame being placed on those who have worked the hardest and shouldered the backlash from senior team's incompetence and inexperience in leading a charity.

    Conseils à la direction

Sort out your core support processes, care for your staff.

In addition, for a 'social integration' charity, many of the leadership team are white, middle aged men from a military background.

Practice what you preach or lose credibility once and for all!
