    Avantages

NRG is a solid company with an inviting and collaborative workforce. Excellent work environment and decent pay and competitive benefits. The professional yet laid back employees and the overall happy work environment are what makes this place so successful.

    Inconvénients

Recent corporate restructuring caused by activist investors with an aim on efficiency means outsourcing and layoffs for many in the workforce. Job security is not as certain as it once was, even for good, highly accomplished employees.

    Conseils à la direction

Laying off too many core employees and outsourcing to less skilled workers with no knowledge of NRG's custom/proprietary systems and services could have a negative impact on business performance. Over the last decade, NRG, and Specifically Reliant, have hired and developed some of the best talent in the industry but the company is in jeopardy of losing its competitive advantage in the market due to brain drain.

    Avantages

Co-workers are generally helpful and ready to share knowledge, there are a handful of hardworking individuals here who want to do well here and their performance proves it. Benefits aren't bad, you can expect to leave on time most days and while the open floor plan can be stressful the office is nice.

    Inconvénients

Cliquish senior management is prone to favoritism and seems reluctant to promote based on merit. If you are a top performer who is extended an invitation into the upper echelon be mindful your tenure can end abruptly.

    Conseils à la direction

Mid-level management should not be used as a legion of 'yes men' to roll out confusing project instructions and mercurial deadlines. Employees want to do their job in an efficient and productive manner and their questions/suggestions would be viewed as an opportunity for improvement by a strong leadership team.

    Avantages

The Pay for an hourly worker is great, $40+/hr. especially because most positions are entry-level (GED or equivalent). Benifits are great, 4.5% match up to 6% on 401K, BCBS medical all inclusive for family $200/2 weeks.

    Inconvénients

This company has been bought and sold so many times, no one knows what is going on at any given time. Much room for improvement in: Schedule, Management, Quality of Life, Culture, Organization the list goes on....

    Conseils à la direction

Get your Act together, Work as a team, Try and realize it is 2018, Treat people as you would like to be treated.

    Avantages

    Decent benefits and decent pay.

    Inconvénients

Dominating figures in management led to no personal grown and vindictive atmosphere. If you're un-liked for whatever reason, be prepared to feel like you'll lose your job at any moment. Not many people work there for more than 5 years.

    Conseils à la direction

Clean house with some of your managers/VP's. Instill a culture that is parallel with 2018, not the old corporate iron fist culture.

    Avantages

The company is staffed with great folks. At one point in time, it had great potential for changing the way we use energy.

    Inconvénients

The company became more focused on the almighty $ rather than it's people. The culture became very unpleasant. Leadership no longer cared about the people; many quality people walked out and others were laid off.

    Conseils à la direction

Management is sacrificing it's people. The culture is thankless, demeaning, unappreciative, and uncaring. It puts the needs of the business over the needs of its employees. It's unfortunate that you 'threw away' so many talented folks in the business.
