    Conseils à la direction

    Monster used to lead in this space, now lack an identity. One month they're trying to be a mini Indeed and the next, Glassdoor. Many customers are on their 5th or 6th Account Manager this year alone. Without many reasons to stay, most are looking for a way off this boat.

    Avantages

    In the Tempe office there is no pro's

    Inconvénients

    In the last year in our Tempe office we have had 2 directors, high turnover in management, dozens of reps either quit or have been fired. 2 Comp plans, our accounts have dwindled from 1200 to 250 and more reductions to come. Base pay is way too low, and the way commissions are now structured you cannot even get close to 6 figures - Lastly Monster just let go of 180 sales employees ! The ship is going down !

    Conseils à la direction

    Raise base pay to 65K - structure commission to reflect the currnet renewal rates so that they are attained at 100% by a majority of the sales floor, not just a select few. Also Change to a monthly commission structure.
    Advertise Advertise Advertise - Revamp the customer account portal and Launch some new technology !

    Avantages

    work life balance is great... you are treated as family even though they are a really large global company.

    Inconvénients

    Need more innovations to make sure we are ahead of the competition! We are the pioneers and we need to take back.

    Management is starting to micromanage sales teams. Sometimes strategy of business doesn't make sense.

    Avantages

    Co-workers are a definite plus. The building is beautiful, eco conscious, also great setting.

    Inconvénients

    The culture since I started had deteriorated greatly, the compensation plan makes it difficult to make bonuses. Also no raises here in over 5 years, and if they actually paid attention to the resource center where they post advise on their own site, they would realize that they have an article where their advise is that if you haven't received a raise in 5 years it may be time to find a new position because with inflation not getting a raise in 5 years is equal to a 2% pay decrease per year.

    Listen! Actually listen to employees. Yes a new building was needed however no one paid attention to the traffic patterns and what a mere 10-15 mile difference would mean to employee commutes. Your employees are not happy, they are very well aware that the upper management don't care about any of them. Also, you may want to reconsider the good ol' boys club mentality, there are no RSM's that are felmales in the Weston office.

    Avantages

    Great company with solutions that actually work. Seeing a shift that we have finally bottomed out and are growing our revenue and market share. Monster has made some investments to make itself a diverse solution provider in the HR and Talent Acquisition space. If a company is hiring, looking to improve it's brand, needs to improve their HR processes, or simply wants to outsource their recruitment efforts, Monster can do it all and do it well.

    Inconvénients

    Monster hasn't had any real sales incentives in 2015...this is due to going through the transition, but in 2014 we had some quarterly spiffs that weren't all that great, but did help give a decent lift in commissions. There haven't been any company paid trip awards in years and I think they are looking at bringing this back as we are getting back on the right track, but we will see. The company is also getting a little too involved in micro management which is never the solution. There are those managers who protect their reps from it as much as possible, but there is a lot of redundancies in how we have to report our information and numbers.

    Conseils à la direction

    Get back to awarding the sales reps more. Reduce redundancies in reporting. Invest more in sales (training, awards, kickoffs)...likely can expect to see this more in 2016 so I hope it's true. Managers need to lead more and manage less...dont worry about KPI's...worry about maximizing sales and not forcing us to get the customer to close just to we have the revenue booked.

    Avantages

    Monster employs great people and I was fortunate enough to work with some great folks.

    Inconvénients

    It's a struggle to sell for a brand that has a poor perception in the marketplace. Although, Monster has some great solutions to offer, the brand suffers from poor perception.

    This company treats its employees great. They are continually expanding into the market with innovative new products. Work/life balance is fantastic!

    Inconvénients

    No leadership programs to prepare you for management roles.
