J'ai travaillé chez Monster Worldwide en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 8 ans)

    Avantages

the pay was wonderful for over 8 years, generous commission and base salary. This was the only reason I stayed for over 8 years.

    Inconvénients

management: not helpful, no career path, no opportunity to grow with the company despite many attempts to grow my career here. they would hire managers from outside the company only to have them leave a few months later and not replace them. Very dysfunctional management. After almost 9 years of service to this company. No attempts to get to know employees in other cities, too many layers of management which allowed all managers to distance themselves from employees more and more.

    Conseils à la direction

Your customers should be your continued focus, making sure you are staying ahead of the competition and not missing the mark on how to do that which was the case for so many years. do right by the customer without the customers having to fight for it.

J'ai travaillé chez Monster Worldwide en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 8 ans)

    Avantages

You do have autonomy in creating a sales plan to help you get over quota but you have to hit the call metrics regardless of your success connecting with Clevel or decision makers thru alternative methods even if that means 50 voicemails a day.

    Inconvénients

Inflexible with remote work from home after they moved their office from the 495 belt to the I95 belt. Average commute times were going up 30-50%.

J'ai travaillé chez Monster Worldwide en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 5 ans)

    Avantages

Base Pay is based on Experience & a Solid Sales Background. Commissions are based on Performance. Goals were attainable for me but many struggled during this time, as companies were recovering from the recession.

    Inconvénients

Sometimes Quotas would be unattainable esp. during the recession. I didn't have any issues but I was one of few to exceed quota during the recession. CEO & Upper Management. Turnover was a bit high in my 6 years, plus they were always realigning or changing things.

This may not be a Con, if you are like me & always open to change and are flexible. It's a must in order to thrive in this environment, which is hard for some to adjust. High Quotas were driven by Stockholders as it is a publicly traded company. (MWW) I believe they were sold recently

This wasn't an issue for me, once I knew what I was doing (expect 3 months to 1 Year to ramp for the learning curve & to get to know and contact your entire territory plus get to know your Contact & Companies Needs) They want you up and running in less than 3 months while performing exceptionally. That is quite stressful your 1st 6 months to A Year).

    Conseils à la direction

Just to offer more flexible plans for Telecommuting. When having babies & children or even disabilities, this would be a very helpful option to return to work much sooner. I loved my career & had I not become disabled from a rare disease & chronic illness, after the birth of my son, I would have been back as they offered that to me. It has been a long road to recovery, they were very understanding but to lose your career as a Top Sales Performer with approx. 5 1/2 years with the Company is very disheartening and adds stress to the recovery process. (when you are already very sick, it is very hard on you when trying to recover from new autoimmune diseases, a 40 day hospital stay & your life being turned upside down in such a short period of time).

In all fairness, Monster didn't let me go until 3 months after my hospital release. I love this Company & pray someday I'll be at a point I can take them up on the offer of coming back. It's been a very long road to recovery & we had to move several states over for my husband to get a better career with me being out of commission. Also, please offer LTD that is not ERISA but that employees can put their own money in so they get paid their full benefits for a longer period of time & add a pay component plus returning to own job not any job. When you are young, these are not things you look at bc you don't expect to go have a baby & then become disabled. Being able to buy a non-ERISA policy would be helpful as they are geared more toward the fair of the Insurance Companies & not the Employee. Thank You & God Bless!

Je travaille chez Monster Worldwide à plein temps (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

2 years ago I could list many great things about working here...not so much any more.

    Inconvénients

Revolving door of leadership means that nothing works. The product is a joke, the comp plan is a joke, and you will be micro-managed right down to bathroom breaks.

    Conseils à la direction

    Sell the company.

    Avantages

Great money if you are good at your job, independent work style/methods where you don't have management breathing down your back

    Inconvénients

Seems like management team and sales team have no idea what they are doing. The approach they take seems like they are shooting in the dark. You need to figure out and do everything yourself (a con for some, and a pro for others).

No growth once so ever in sales roles after you have reached Internet Recruitment Consultant.

    Conseils à la direction

Try and learn more about the business and more about sales 101 to help out and lead your teams.

No effort on promoting a healthy work culture and general lack of care for their inside sales teams. Very impersonal touch, you really just feel like a number.

    Avantages

I currently work in the Tempe office and have been her for less then a year. The culture here is warm and inviting to newcomers joining the team like myself. I have found the managers are always eager to help and give me immediate answers or point me in the right direction. Most reps make themselves available to help wiling to sharing best practices and providing practical help. The office is simple with about 50 people total including management. We have a nice lounge area with a big screen cable TV, kitchen area and even a foosball table for some down time. The atmosphere is competitive with contests and the mgt team recognizes sales performance with awards and spiffs. I feel I have the necessary tools at my disposal to be successful in my role.

    Inconvénients

Monster seems like a brand trying its best to make a comeback. There is stiff competition in the marketplace like LinkedIn and Indeed. The goals for account managers are aggressive and can seem overwhelming at times. They are attainable, but it takes a skilled salesperson with daily drive to get there. This place is not for the weak or lazy. Monster also has so many resources available, that its tough to sift through the info and find what's truly useful and impactful. There are too many products to sell and it makes it tough to achieve all the company goals when you have competing interests from product groups.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep up the good work continuing to hear and act upon our feedback. Keep caring about your reps. You need to hire more talented reps to make Tempe #1

J'ai travaillé chez Monster Worldwide en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 8 ans)

    Avantages

I was with Monster for 9 years. In the beginning, work life balance was great. I was making excellent money (six figures every year). It was stressful as with any sales job but was still fun and exciting mainly because of the people. Set hours so no taking your work home with you, which allows you to enjoy your family/ free time. Good benefits, Including a 401k which the company matched. Raises every year in the beginning based on performance. Sales achievers trips. I have some amazing memories with this company.

    Inconvénients

Unfortunately, most of the things that made the company and culture great stopped. No sales trips, no raises, and it became extremely hard to hit your number unless you are part of the favorites club. Management completely ruined the company. What was once so promising has become a dinosaur in the industry and I don't see how that can be fixed. I stuck around long enough to hear the plans to rebuild and couldn't see their vision. Micromanaging at its worst. Only there for shareholders, company could care less about the customer. In fact, as a sales rep they made it extremely hard to hit your number and make money without getting customers to buy products only to make Monster look better. In a lot of cases these were not products these customers even needed. I started with Monster because I felt I was helping people and making a difference....it happened to pay well and was fun which was icing on the cake. In the end I felt guilty, I was doing a disservice to my customers all for a buck. Management could care less, they are all about looking good. They rule by fear and threaten to fire you if you speak up, mainly because they themselves do not know how to manage.

    Conseils à la direction

Listen to your employees... They want to be successful too. They are the ones on the front line, let them help you right this ship. I still have a lot of friends and stock with the company and I would love to see there be a change. I do not know how Tim Yates is managing things as he took over just after I left but hope he is not running it the same way Sal did. Bring back the sales trips and raises each year.....sales people are in sales for a reason.
