    Point de vue positif

J'ai travaillé chez Media Plus en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

For true sales reps with a hunter mentality, Media Plus is a great gig, although the hours are long and commissions only get paid after the clients pay. That said, I had experiences I never would have dreamed possible and made fantastic money while being paid to travel the world. The success rate of consultants is low, but for those who have what it takes, it's a fantastic opportunity.

    Inconvénients

Lots of cost-cutting recently and management roles come with more responsibility but not necessarily more money.

    Conseils à la direction

Invest the money you spend recruiting into top consultants with proven track records.

    Avantages

Good training, meet interesting people, get to see various parts of the globe, interview fascinating individuals in upper levels of private and public sector.

    Inconvénients

The upper management team at this company is incredibly manipulative and you are considered less than a number. The turnover rate is astronomical, and out of the 20+ people in my training group, not a single person worked for the company beyond 7 months. Do not believe the salary expectations they tell you, because nobody in the company makes nearly close to those amounts.

J'ai travaillé chez Media Plus en Contrat Permanent (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

    1. Free flight to Belgium (and free flight back home if you don't make it past training...if you opt out early, you have to find your own way back).
    2. You meet some AMAZING people at training. I'm still friends with my fellow trainees and that is honestly one of the only good things that came out of my time with Media Plus.
    3. If you make it past the first weeks of training, you have the weekends free, which gives you time to travel to nearby cities (Brussels, Eindhoven, Amsterdam, etc.). After my first week we all went to Amsterdam and had a blast!
    4. Housing and transportation are quite reasonable. I stayed in one of two houses that were right next to each other (a "Women's house" and a "Men's house") and even though the downstairs shower was broken, the rest of the house was clean...if a little sparse.
    5. Free lunch and unlimited coffee/tea during training...but the lack of options (just sandwiches and the same two kinds of soup) makes for a bland meal.

    Inconvénients

    1. The number one worst thing with Media Plus, in my humble opinion, is the lack of morals. If you want to feel good about yourself and the direction your life is taking, do NOT work for this company. They exploit companies and people in developing countries and trick them into buying advertisements for bogus magazines/commercials. For example: They'll convince a company to spend 35,000 euros on a thirty-second commercial that'll air on television in New York. Sounds like good exposure, right? Wrong. It'll air ONCE, on a SUNDAY, at like 3:00pm, on Fox News 5, which is just a local channel...not some nationally-broadcasted channel. It's a scam and a crying shame.
    2. Weird office culture...while training in Lommel, current employees wouldn't really talk to you or encourage you to work there. I mean, if I loved my job and saw other trainees looking to get into the business, I'd want to talk with my future colleagues and tell them about all the great things my company did. This was perhaps the biggest tip-off of why I didn't want to work there...if the employees dislike it so much (which they do, trust me. I know people currently working there who think it's a joke), why on earth should I work there?
    3. Terrible recruitment processes. Yeesh, where do I even begin? When we arrived in Lommel, I was the only person who knew that we were still under a "trial period" for the job and that we could still get sent home. I only knew this because after I had everything in order to fly over, I discovered glassdoor and saw the other reviews. I had already signed the paperwork, so I couldn't back out. A lot of the other trainees had quit their previous jobs, sold their cars, moved out of their apartments, stored their belongings, and given up everything thinking they had a job with Media Plus!

    Conseils à la direction

We're people with feelings and lives and dreams. Treat us as such.

J'ai travaillé chez Media Plus en Contrat Permanent (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

You definitely learn how to step out of your comfort zone. It is a fast paced, intense training that challenges you and you really see yourself growing each day. The accommodation is great and you get to meet interesting people from all over the world.

    Inconvénients

Be prepared to take a lot of criticism, and sleep for 4 hours a night. The company looks for specific people and lets people go if they do not fit the company profile. Even the people who are great at the job end up hating it. The company is not what it seems and at the end of the day all they care about is results, not the employees.

    Conseils à la direction

Be realistic. The job is already tough as it is, it would be helpful if they hired people to set up the interviews so the sales team can just go in and master what they are good at and focus on their ultimate goal.

    Avantages

Traveling through different countries, continents and meeting a diverse set of people was the best. I met some great colleagues throughout the world that I still keep in touch with.

    Inconvénients

You are stuck in a hotel room making phone calls and setting up meetings. Once you set up meetings you attend them generally with your business partner. After the work day ends at five you are expected to role play and prepare for next days meetings. Sometimes it can feel as if you work all day. Its definitely a lifestyle, if living in hotel rooms and eating out a lot is something you don't enjoy then I highly discourage you.

    Conseils à la direction

Management needs to keep in mind its employees when making decisions.

    Avantages

Travelling all over the world, autonomy (you are able to manage your own teams if you prove yourself)

    Inconvénients

Poor team management, abhorrent expectations management, terrible methods of team motivation, terrible salary, terrible company resources (training, books, database, file management). One of the worst paying companies in this type of industry (less than half of what older - not necessarily better - companies pay).

    Conseils à la direction

Invest in better managers. Do not threaten employees with docking their pay. Give your teams daily allowance. Learn to train your managers on how to motivate people better. Hire better local staff that have more experience.

J'ai travaillé chez Media Plus en Contrat Permanent (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

The training is one of the best I ever had, you meet and share experiences with people from all over the world, you have the chance to travel around, live and work in different countries, good money if you a good salesperson. The contract is as an independent consultant so you are pretty much able to manage your times, For my experience consultants work from 9am to 5pm and some research later or during the weekend (if you want to work less hours behind a desk this is not for you).

    Inconvénients

If you are not comfortable with sales this is not for you. If you do not like to travel and stay in hotel this is not the job for you. The pay is not great if you do not close sales.

    Conseils à la direction

Receive the feedback from consultants and make actions.

none what so ever even if you think really really hard.

    Inconvénients

They sell advertising in paper magazines by lying to clients and namedropping of big names (even from the mayor)
Nobody actually knows what they are doing, everyone is just doing something
No decent management what so ever
    Dying company
    No intelligent sales people stay

    Conseils à la direction

your way is not working anymore in the present times and feels more like a con then anything else.
treat your employers and your customers with respect instead of sheer lies.
Hire yourself a decent manager if you can afford one.

J'ai travaillé chez Media Plus en Contrat Permanent (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

The initial training is very demanding and challenging, you learn things that will last forever, they take you to an elegant house with other trainees, the premises are very comfortable etc..

    Inconvénients

This company is not serious at all, it's not transparent, they recruit you and give you big promises, the draw the world to you, next thing you know they take you in private to tell you that you do not fit with the company, the company cannot fit to you they say...
They basically ruined 'temporarly' the life of about 17 people in the last training, everyone was fired after a week and a half, no compesation, no transparent explanation, what they do is legal in front of Belgium law but is not moral in regards to employees. They book you a lowcost flight, they tell you to bring clothes for winter and summer so basically excess luggage, then they tell you they are willing to pay for the excess luggage... If you decide to give it a try, its up to you, but just dont quit your house, dont seel your stuff, just dontleave your life behind.... Chances are you might get fired in the first two weeks with no compesation at all.
Other thing they tell you continental breakfast and lunch... Bullcrap, its just a kitchen with some coffe a few crackers milk and cereal, and pray for it not to be finishes in the morning. Lunch: une lousy sandwich sooooooooo lousy its smaller than an average human hand....the people are unbeleivable...

    Conseils à la direction

Be transparent to trainees do not make them overload luggage, tell them there are 70% chances they could be fired, just dont make people come from the other side of the world and draw big things int their heads, one trainee sold everything in America and had basically mowhere else to go after this person got fired...

-Travel, if it’s not to sierre leonne to get malaria (it happened).
-free substandard lodging with a literal cot to sleep on with 20 other people in the room. It felt like a homeless shelter.

    Inconvénients

-terrible pay structure. want you to sell 50,000 euro adds in a MAGAZINE to a restaurant with 20 tables, true story.
    -dying industry in print advertising.
-basically lie to get the interview. lie and tell your prospect its a free interview and then ask for a 50,000 euro magazine add, hilarious when you see their faces.
-they give you fake press badges to illegally impersonate news people
-you feel like a sleazy salesman
-send you to some of the MOST DANGEROUS countries in the world, israel, jordan, syria, colombia, sierre leone, egypt, turkey, mexico, etc. caucasian = screwed/jail/death
