    Avantages

    the people are lovely and that's about it.

    Inconvénients

    Poor salary, no training, a lot of politics and backstabbing. No room for initiatives and hard work is not appreciated nor valued. HR is a desaster. No bonus, they always have a reason not to pay it. The company is in decline, has no vision at all. They don't listen to the people. "In the past we used to do it like this" is what you hear every day. No forward thinking. Top management interfering with day to day... operational details.

    Avantages

    Great colleagues where everyone is trying their best. Unfortunately, you have to expect loosing them as people are fired like trash, or quit after being totally exhausted from the stone age environment. Great ambitions for the brand despite the little achievement.

    Inconvénients

    1) ZERO CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN Management just expects you to stay in your current position forever without salary increase, tuition to gain new competencies, job opportunities. It seems they thrive at creating a blur and complex environment in which you are never able to envision a future. Employees are expected to create their own plan without any guarantee of success or management support. 2) TOXIC WORK... ENVIRONMENT Micro management across all business units. It seems every person cannot breathe live or move without the CEO's permission. None of the marketing projects can move if she doesn't agree on every single comma resulting in BU marketing managers to take no responsability, no decision, no balls even when they strongly disagree for their own markets. It creates a negative work environement where everyone criticizes the global marketing decisions but none of the senior managers has the gut to speak for themselves. As a lower ladder manager, you just end being totally annihilated, learning nothing and not working your brain off. 3) WORKLOAD IS NOT EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED Some people are swamped others seem to do nothing. 4) STONE AGE PROCESS AND IT Old people, old process old IT tools and software. 5) ABSOLUTE NO INTERESTS IN CSR OR ECO FRIENDLY PACKAGINGS To produce the chocolate heavy amounts of plastics are used for production, transportation and within the chocolates giftbox. Absolute no interest to at least try to find new consumer and future oriented solutions.

    Avantages

    Decent work for decent pay with good benefits : It’s a nice platform to launch a career with a job full of variety. With a correct wage according to standards. However this remains a great opportunity to start to work but not to make a career Passionate and fun employees with a good team spirit Good chocolate for a cheap price Opportunity to learn the retail culture in luxury goods

    Inconvénients

    Poor progress in technology : the main working tools are from the Stone-Age in IT History. Using AS-400 on a daily basis as main program is really a shame for a big-sized company. No real personal development plan : employees need to initiate evolution in their career otherwise they keep doing the same duties for a very long time. The business is ruled by toxic micromanagement : lack of empathy, lack of... compassion for extra hours and quite selfish in general. Lower salaried personnel is managed with authority, not by collaboration. It seems the load of work is not equally distributed. The business is ruled in a too much individualistic way.

    A time ago, it was a really nice place to work with globally a steady staff. But the lack of hold promises and lack of true attention regarding the staff needs changed the work environment. Many quality people are gone due to a poor people management Managers should listen more to their team. Sometimes solution they bring is just a cheap action to keep the mood in for a short-term period. They should re-think... some of the processes, taking in consideration the reality of the field. Offer more value-added trainings which brings perspective for employees and teams to build a future together. Last but not least : invest in an ERP system which belongs to 21st century !

    Access to chocolate at an employee price, travelling in business class to Asia and US (long haul flight)

    Inconvénients

    No personal development, no training, lack of communication between the different departments

    This is a mid size company with great culture of development and improvement. Vision and strategy are clear to all, market perspectives seems positive for coming year. This company invests in plant and people.

    Inconvénients

    Increasing reporting to corporate offices results in additional workload without visible added value. Could be improved in using appropriate ERP environment.

    Avantages

    There is a will to bring Godiva forward and to achieve. There is a strong team spirit amongst teams. There is openness and transparency and support in individual teams. There is constant striving for excellence and being in line with the Brand image. There are many opportunities and projects to be part of as the company grows. There is a strong buzz around the business and a global desire to meet targets.

    Inconvénients

    Many dated processes and work ethics, esp coming from Brussels. There is a reticence to speak out to senior leadership for fear of reprimand or negative consequences. There is poor inter-departmental cooperation and compromise.

    To listen to the teams for the purpose to hear what they say. Not necessarily to act. To view the inter departmental cooperation and assist from the top with their peers to get this culture of cooperation cascading down. To push for modern and stream-lined processes that benefit the business, even if it means redesigning everything.
