    The colleagues are all friendly and fun to work with.

    Inconvénients

    Bad decisions have been made about the structure of the organisation. There are no longer specialists in a particular area - everyone is now a generalist without the necessary experience. The pay is low compared to other employers in the area.

    Majority of people are great people and down to earth.

    The new system Phoenix they have implemented is not fit for purpose nor is benefiting the general public in anyway by making massive backlogs in dealing with complaints being handled..

    Location and people. More diversity than you'd find in most firms in the sector.

    Inconvénients

    Inconsistencies in the implementation of good practice towards staff and the public across this huge bureaucracy. A new employee might find themselves in a team where the need to meet targets doesn't undermine fairness in complaint handling and respect for the individual (my experience most of the time) or experience the distress and lack of support evident from the largely negative reviews. Even in the best... scenario, given the fluctuations in the service's needs, it would be prudent to devise an exit strategy from the outset and get as many professional qualifications as possible, notwithstanding the the challenge of long hours. Your future employability may depend on you having a wider grasp of the regulatory environment.

    Act decisively to reduce unacceptable delays and reputational risk by fully utilising the resources at your disposal: halt the brain drain of ombudsmen leaving because they don't' fit the new management model; end the preposterous situation of adjudicators with experience of complex products working on cases suited to entry level staff while investigators struggle; allow investigators to become confident... specialists in a set range of products even if the mix changes over time.

    free gym - but other than that nothing else I can think of

    -stressful environment - no work/life blance - no career progression - extremely overworked - undervalued - unrealistic targets - micromanaged - poorly managed - toxic environment No matter how bad you think your current job is, or how insidious the job ads are with a promise of flexible working , do not be fooled. If you value your sanity, self esteem, or work life balance this is not the job for you.... In reality you will work 50 plus hours a week, be continuously told your not good enough and micro managed to breaking point. Staff welfare is the bottom of their list as are the customers. all they are driven by is stats. They would rather a shoddy half complete investigation is done if it means closing a complaint. The management are clueless and simply number crunch, the running of the business is alarmingly ineffective . They ask for feedback from staff and then become defensive and continue to defend their blinkered approach which ultimately leads to short-changing the complainants. The best advice I can give is simply don’t waste your time, many people leave within a few months and those who stay end up on capability plans or performance development plans and are pushed out. Morale is rock bottom and your best will never be good enough. Only sycophants thrive in this sinking ship and those who dare to speak the truth are singled out and isolated.

    what advice can you give to thi management - all of the above has been well documented in the public domain - the CEO has been hauled up, on more than one occasion by MPs, it has also been well-documented in Dispatches but the arrogant manaement continue to lie to all and sundry and carry on in their merry ways
