    Avantages

    Extremely unstructured, with no vision and poor management style, Edelman Brussels is a pure disappointment. Team is composed of a senior management layer with limited vision and experience, supported of interns and juniors with limited career growth.

    Inconvénients

    Not a place for senior talent.

    Avantages

    Money, package, office location, that's it.....nothing else

    Inconvénients

    Attitude from management is really poor and there is no two-ways communication, for a company speaking of creativity and innovation, top management shows neither of those qualities or openness to them. Average turn-over of people in the past half year was probably 10 people. They can let people go even if they have worked for them for years from 09:00 to 20:00 or later! Not to speak about the horrible and unprofessional attitude they have when they ask someone go - they literally kick the person out the same day and don't even allow him to send a goodbye email to his contacts.

    Try to reform your office culture otherwise you're doomed to keep on loosing people.

    Avantages

    For recent grads this is a good place to start your career in communications or market research.
    Work with top name brands/project.
    Interns get paid over time but good luck trying to get those hours.
    Free amenities of working at a big company.
    A lot of down-time if you're into that.
    Really have to go out of your way to network/find work
    3 month internship but if you show interest you could stay the full 6 months.

    Inconvénients

    Barely get any meaningful work as an intern so you may expect a lot of down time.
    Revolving door for interns, Edelman only hires a hand pick few.
    No diversity and its quite sad as they say they are "diverse"

    Avantages

    - Edelman is objectively the best global communications firm thanks to its privately-held structure, positive culture and willingness to celebrate high-achievers.
    - The D.C. and NYC offices both possess great client bases, especially in the financial sector.
    - When it comes to Financial Communications, it helps that Richard Edelman supports the practice
    - Legit opportunities for advancement
    - Thoughtful managers when they have time to get to know you one-on-one
    - Fair compensation and willingness to give meaningful raises when promoted
    - Depending on the practice you're in, Edelman will invest in professional development (e.g. conferences and trips)

    Inconvénients

    - Edelman is probably too big right now at nearly 6,000 people
    - Too much focus on revenue over margin
    - Lack of focus on the basics (e.g. media relations, etc.)
    - Often times, weak senior talent at the VP-Practice Chair level doesn't get discovered as incompetent until after departures
    - FinComms leadership can sometimes be aloof and FinServ leadership seems to almost always lack the right sector expertise
    - Financial practice pays 15%-25% less than boutique peers

    Conseils à la direction

    Don't lose sight of the public relations basics given Edelman will never be an advertising firm. Be bold in terms of investing in the next generation of talent while cutting ties with overpaid senior staff that do not possess business generation skills.
