Avantages

I have been a part of many of the changes this budding standup has had to make as they find the path to success. While not every decision has been correct or effective, Viewpost does have the resiliency to keep trying until it works. With that resilience comes the opportunity to learn and try different things, especially when it comes to technology and techniques. The team I am on embraces that mentality to build the application with the bleeding edge technologies that other large, successful companies use for their own applications. About 90% of our application is based on OSS libraries and frameworks. The team is highly collaborative with each other, treating each interaction as an opportunity to learn. We also, in contrast to several other reviews as this is a recent change, have a great degree of autonomy in doing what we need to do to succeed.

Inconvénients

It is a volatile environment, though that comes with the territory of being a startup. I do believe it take a special kind of person to work in this environment however, knowing well that we have to work extra hard to make this work, but that it might not be enough anyway. The silver lining in that is that the skills gained in a short period here set you up favorably for anything that comes afterward.

Avantages

It's a family here. We all help each other out. The CEO CARES. He wants feedback, just as your managers do. At a good pace, people are advancing in their roles/departments. It's definitely a stable position and stable company.

Inconvénients

Honestly, None! I absolutely wonderful here,

Avantages

Viewpost is a startup at heart. When you walk into the work environment, you experience a constant energy on the floor - developers, business analysts, UX, deployment and QA folks all working together to get great features out the door. The people at Viewpost are legitimately low ego, transparent, friendly and passionate about what they do. It is a product-first, team-first mentality, where folks will rally around anyone to help them get the job done. The technical teams are talented and developers "geek out" over growing in the craft of software development - as a developer, you grow a ton just by being on the floor and learning from those around you. The product and business vision is stellar. They stock a kitchen with food and drinks to keep folks energized.

Inconvénients

Viewpost is constant energy, and as such, it is a high distraction environment. You definitely need to be able to plugin and focus. You don't want to work for Viewpost if you are looking to work a 9 to 5 job - people are passionate about the product and company, and it is a shared expectation that we will do what it takes to succeed. For a startup, the hours are pretty reasonable and there is a focus on maintaining work-life balance, but there are definitely crunch times when capability needs to get out the door. There is a well-developed security and compliance presence, and it is a continual challenge to balance being secure with delivering the product quickly.
