Avantages

This is a good company if you're looking for a first job. For entry level the salary was around $55,000 to $60,000. I really enjoyed it here in the beginning. There is room for promotions within the company if you learn new languages and take on new roles. Both the federal and contractors in my office were incredibly friendly and I made good connections. My contract was one of the best I could have landed on.

Inconvénients

Depending on the contract's lifespan, it is difficult to get a promotion, which is the only way to get more than a 2% salary increase. Myself and others have had issues with HR. After a foreseen contract closure and termination, the representative dodged a lot of questions I and the other employees had. To be fair, this is a time of uncertainty (2025) for everyone and the company. However, they failed to communicate important PTO policy that affected us until it was too late. HR would also be hard to get a hold of, over email or phone.

The lengthy one pretty much explain it all.

Inconvénients

I am one of the lucky folks that has a spouse working for a company that pay a good portion of the health benefits. My coworker on the other hand doesn't and going through some finance issue with the rates. My coworker explained that they are offering on cheaper insurance on ehealthinsurance site compared to what he/she is paying for insurance with SID. Go figure. Current family plan he/she he paying was 700 for family. Rates has gone up to 800 starting this September. He also showed me plans from the ehealthinsurance site and I was astonish on how much he could save from purchasing health insurance on his own. To bad he was late on coming to buy insurance outside since they only gave a 2 weeks notice on Open Enrollment while at that the pricing 1 week later. This leads me to believe that the company is really not covering anything for their employees and they are just using this as a vehicle to entice other people to work for them. Yes I understand that there is deductible with the lower rate at ehealthinsurance for 500 or so but for the same price of 800, he/she is actually getting the same from outside or even better plan PPO. Make sure you have some back up plan for insurance, this company is lacking for sure.

While SID cannot address a particular employee's health insurance concerns in this response, SID recognizes that each individual and family has different needs. SID has worked diligently and responsibly with it's broker to offer many plan options for it's employee population to select from. The rising cost of health insurance has not stopped and changes under the PPACA are now being implemented. SID has provided education regarding The Affordable Care Act in the form of webinars, newsletters and in person employee discussion meetings. SID strives to provide as many informed and affordable options to it's employees during every open enrollment.
