Avantages
The Charlotte office is great. The culture is positive and fellow employees are more than willing to help new employees learn the ropes. This is a young group of workers with an energetic/startup mentality. We get to work with and advise some of the largest companies you've never heard of through PE firms. This is a great place to start a career in risk management. As a risk analyst, you will be helping corporations renew insurance and manage their risk management processes. You'll be working with underwriters, claims managers, brokers, CFOs, risk managers, and carriers. I like working here because we are disrupting the insurance industry and our service often pays for itself because we aim to maximize the value of money spent on total cost of risk, often cutting premium spend by hundreds of thousands of dollars while maintaining the same deductibles/limits/coverages.
Inconvénients
The open workspace is a double-edged sword; it can be easy to get distracted by conversations and phone calls, and you have to be vigilant about staying on task. That being said, the open space is ultimately a positive because the area VP and my manager sit in the same room as me, and the accessibility to them has helped me learn more quickly.
