Avantages

The unlimited PTO is real, and line managers encourage you to take it. Individual teams / managers are supportive and positive. No set schedule or deadlines, and radical developer freedom (more on this in the cons).

Inconvénients

Fetch has leaders who are absolutely convinced it's the best place to work in the world, and they had me fooled for a while. They tell you they care about your wellbeing, and the wellness coach does. However, they impose unreasonable standards for app performance (sometimes outside of the engineer's control) and expect a level of urgency that is completely unhealthy. Multiple times the entire tech org was expected to work through the weekend because the CTO said so. The overwork would actually be tolerable if it weren't for the public humiliation. The design reviews are really just a chance for the CTO and his favorite engineers to talk down to people and make them look/feel stupid. The CTO has also openly stated that he doesn't care about how he makes you feel and that engineers are expected to tolerate any abuse he dishes out at any time, and how he delivers that "feedback" is irrelevant. It's good pay, it was a good team, it had good benefits, but it will never be worth being publicly humiliated over the tiniest mistakes and being expected to produce perfect work or be shamed for it. There's no concept of improvement here, if it doesn't match some arbitrary standard set by the CTO, it goes in the garbage.

Avantages

Fetch remains one of the only true work from home organizations among so many others where coming into the office has since become mandatory again. Although there are amazing offices you can work from in Chicago, Boston, New York, Madison, and Birmingham, the work from home ability remains steadfast and one of the best parts of working at Fetch. People are encouraged to take some well deserved time off, and the team is the best in the business, and so passionate about what they do.

Inconvénients

One of Fetch's core values is speed, and the environment is very true to this. If you like to maintain independence and get things done quickly, Fetch is the place to be!

Avantages

Good benefits, great pto policy, great rewards system, on paper the company looks great

Inconvénients

-incompetent leadership (not all, but a good portion) -bait and switch style hire process -they don't have solid direction on where they are headed so it's a lot of top-down confusion -leaders have heads in the clouds but don't know how the tactical things happen, so there are two different realities amongst execs and the lower level employees doing the work -pay comparisons are questionable -microaggressions, bullying, and bias run rampant as it's not much diversity -absolutely no one knows who does what, so you will spend hours or days finding the right person just to get a task done OR question answered. Causing unnecessary delays and tension. -Because of the ai first nature, a lot of people are hired that don't have a clue what they are doing tactically. So conversations and next steps are written and fueled by ai. -Everyone talks like walking philosopher degrees with unnecessary filler and jargon to SOUND like they know what they are doing, but not enough tactical skill. Semantics are huge here. Because of this, ALOT of miscommunication and confusion happens. -They don't have the proper organization or management tools, just slack heavy... as you can imagine chaos breeds in this space. Everyone says "Welcome to Fetch" instead of just hiring the right leaders to bring structure asap. -The focus is too much on doing whatever to get the job done and hit revenue goals.
