Avantages

They only care about showing off for their client.

Inconvénients

Working in a kitchen with no working vent hoods to suck out the hot air. You’re told what your job is when you’re higher then they change that two weeks later and to add more to your job no more pay. They talk to you like you’re a dog And blame anything that is wrong on you because managers don’t work, if you’re serving the line to feed the children you may have five or 10 minutes between groups. You have to stock clean the salad bars wipe down the counters get extra food for the line put it in the pan yourself. And if you have two minutes left over before, the next rush, they want you to start your prep work for the next day because managers are not working to help anyone. They call a time management they want you working the whole minutes that you’re there at the job while they sit on their butts and tell you to go bring them water. Because they’re too lazy to work or walk 75 to 100‘ to go get it but they’ll tell you to go do that. The manager broke the chair the first day on her job that explains how much she does not move. But everyone else in the kitchen sweat is pouring down their faces where you can’t even see what you’re doing when you’re serving the food running down your face, your nose, your back, your ears, your neck .Because we have one fan. Run don’t walk away from this job. They’ll screw you every time. After sweating for three weeks and losing 10 pounds in two weeks and then they told me I was in charge of putting up all the produce when I’m 65 years old and the produce is taller than I am. And it’s also the manager‘s job to be putting up all of this stock. We are supposed to help but she told me it’s my job now cause she doesn’t work. Run like hell.

Avantages

I worked at the John Wayne Airport American Airlines lounge, which served a strong and steady clientele, primarily composed of business travelers. Guests were generally easygoing and professional, with minimal special requests or complex requirements from their side

Inconvénients

The operational and management side was significantly more challenging. The lounge was consistently understaffed, and managers and supervisors often had to step in and cover multiple missing roles just to keep things running. This created a high-pressure environment where tasks that should have been simple often became unnecessarily complicated. There were also strict safety procedures in place, which made sense given the airport setting, but the lack of consistent staffing and equipment issues made compliance difficult at times. In some cases, we were left relying on incomplete processes, such as temperature logs, due to broken equipment and workload pressure. Additionally, perishable goods such as dairy would sometimes sit for extended periods due to last-minute no-shows and staffing gaps, adding further stress to daily operations. Overall, while the clientele and safety structure were solid, the combination of understaffing, equipment issues, and management dynamics made it one of the most stressful and challenging work environments I have experienced.
